Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
Q. Do I have to purchase a standard plan?
A. No. We can manufacture your BPB Log home
according to your own custom floor plans.
Q. What is pressure treating?
A. Pressure treating is a far superior process
when compared to the dipping or spraying methods commonly used.
After your BPB Log Home package is pre-cut and banded into
bundles, the bundles are put into a treating cylinder. The
Borate preservative is then forced into the wood cells at 180
lbs. of air pressure.
Q. What is Borate Treatment?
A. To begin with, Borate protects your BPB Log
Home against wood digesting insects and decay. Borate is a
modern clear treatment that leaves wood in its natural color.
When using Borate Treatment, however, it is mandatory that you
apply a quality wood sealer to the exterior of your home.
Q. Is shipping included in the cost of my BPB
Home package?
A. NO. Due to variances in building site
locations, it is impossible to determine a fair rate for
everybody. We will quote a competitive price to deliver your BPB
Log Home to your building site or an alternative site if tractor
trailer delivery is not possible. Keep in mind weights limits on
bridges, over passes, and narrow roadways.
Q. How will I unload my BPB home from the
delivery trucks?
A. The unloading of your BPB Log Home is your
responsibility. You will need to arrange for a piece of
equipment to unload your BPB Log Home at your building site.
Bear in mind that the equipment should have a minimum of 5000
pounds lifting capacity.
Q. Is it possible for me to assembly my BPB Log
Home package by myself?
A. YES. With basic carpenter skills, adequate
labor force, and hand tools, you can assemble your BPB Log Home
package with out the aid of a contractor.
Q. How is my electrical wiring routed in my BPB
Log Home.
A. Most wiring is done in a conventional manner
through interior partitions. Our base log has a recessed channel
to accommodate most of your wiring needs.
Q. Is my entire BPB Log Home package pre-cut?
A. NO. Due to differences in some building
techniques, a few components of your BPB Log Home package need
to be measured and cut precisely at your building site. However,
the majority of your BPB Log Home package is pre-cut to length.
